Emily Albee is an artist and educator located in Hartford, Connecticut. She received her BFA from Hartford Art School and her MFA in Ceramics from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. Emily is interested in the mythic; that which we know but cannot see with our eyes. Using the visual vocabulary of creation myths, she make connections to societal ideals that have changed over time and reflects on them through sculpture. This work is conceived from an imaginary space and is made “real” through the use of clay. Emily current teaches at the University of Connecticut in Ceramics and Sculpture.
